What assessment methods do you use?
Thrivacious Kids uses the following standardized evaluations/assessments:
The Bruininks-Oseretsky Test of Motor Proficiency (BOT-2)-provides a comprehensive overview of fine/gross motor skills in children within school age range.
The Peabody Developmental Motor Scales (PDMS-2)-measures interrelated motor abilities of children from birth to age 5 years.
The Beery VMI-Developmental Test of Visual Motor Integration-assesses the extent to which individuals can integrate their visual and motor abilities.
The Sensory Profile-2 -evaluates a child’s sensory processing patterns from birth to age 14.
In the event that the child is unable to participate in standardized testing, we use informal assessments such as observation of child during feeding/play/ADL, parent interview, a sensory processing checklist, and oral motor checklist to gain information regarding the child’s needs in order to develop an appropriate plan of treatment for the child.
